Name of the movement
[edit]Something like "All Workers Struggle Front" seems like a more peaceful name than "All Workers Militant Front". I also think it's a more correct translation. Saying "militant" would seem to me to fit more to the Greek word "μαχητικό" (mahitiko) which is not the Greek name for the organisation. For me "militant" sounds like it's some sort of militant only organisation. How does it sound for you? Logictheo 13:28, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Who cares? What matters is that it's a pseudoprogressive, but in reality conservative, carcinoma controlled by rich yet communists, which has caused immense financial trouble to Greece. 74.83.233.1 (talk) 05:15, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- They use All Workers Militant Front themselves: [1]. -MarioGom (talk) 12:41, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Trade Union
[edit]The way I understand things, PAME is not a separate central trade union federation but a movement of workers who are also members of the GSEE. --Soman 13:57, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
I just showed it. It's NOT a trade union. The whole article is misleading. -- Magioladitis (talk) 00:02, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
PAME is not a separate trade union. It can't declare any strikes or sign any job contracts or nothing. It's only a coordination of some trade unions and individuals. -- Magioladitis (talk) 00:14, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but the fact that it is not a separate union federation, doesn't mean that it is not a trade union organisation. I think the categorizes and portal should stay. --Soman (talk) 10:34, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's complicated. I 'll state my facts and you judge how we are presenting them in the main article. As you wrote in article "PAME is a coordination centre". This describes exactly, i think, what PAME is. Its members participate in the elections for GSEE as "PAME" and in local Labour Centres as PAME other names adding below "supported by PAME", the old platform of KKE, ESAK, barely exists anymore. The majority of workers treats PAME as a syndicalist platform. PAME can't declare any strikes and certainly is recognized by the State of the employees as a platform and nothing more. Concluding, I think PAME is a platform with "trade-union-like structure".
- So, certainly I don't believe that Category:Trade unions of Greece suits the case. In Greece we officially have 2 3rd-level Trade Unions. In 1920's or 1930's for example when we had more, all were recognized by the state. PAME maybe wishes to be one, maybe not (even they are not clear for that) but certainly is not an official 3rd-level Trade Union, (not even a trade union with the actual meaning of the term).
- I don't know it these helped. I 'll try to help more by improving the article. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:51, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
actually the name gives the answer.it is a front of 1st and 2nd level unions, where communists hold an absolute majority.they coordinate and promote a common platform because they consider gsee requests and class strugle inadequate.there are unions where communists have majority, but not an absolute majority, which are not part of pame.the most prominent example is worker's centre of peiraias.of course pame has an organizational structure similar to workers federation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.251.255.248 (talk) 00:21, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- So, it's not a trade union just a front. We have to remove the category from the article. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:23, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
